Developing a plan
with your client: 8 Steps

One Reward Yourself

Quitting smoking is hard! Clients should be encouraged to take it one day at a time and reward themselves each day they mange to be smoke free.

Rewards can be simple - for example:

An extra 15 minutes of "ME" time
A hot bath
A walk with friends
A desert that perhaps you would normally allow yourself to have. Please keep in mind that you should not substitute cigarettes for food, doing this will cause you to gain weight.
Use the money saved on tobacco products to treat yourself to something you would not normally allow yourself to purchase.

Money saved (one pack a day at $3.00 a pack)

1 week - $21.00
2 weeks - $42.00
3 weeks - $63.00
1 month - $84.00
3 months - $252.00
6 months - $504.00
1 year - $1008.00
