    5. Conclusion

The research is clear. By integrating a science-based approach into your organization and/or program, you too can produce, and provide proof of, positive results in reducing the risk of teen pregnancy and STIs in the United States. You will not only contribute to the decline in rates of teen pregnancy but will also be able to provide evidence as to what worked in your program so that other organizations may replicate what you have done and add to your success. While the decline in teen pregnancy is promising, there still remains much room for improvement when it comes to finding the best way to reach and to teach teens. Each year, a new group of teens develop who need our attention. It is our responsibility as youth service providers to see that they get this attention and that they receive it in the most appropriate and effective way. If used correctly, the science-based approach, as outlined in the module, can be a valuable and effective tool in preventing teen pregnancy and STIs at the local, state, and national level.
