Science-based approaches to adolescent reproductive health interventions provide a rationale for a program’s purpose, activities, and its impact on youth. This approach provides program administrators and youth-serving professionals the opportunity to

- Combine effective pregnancy, STI, and HIV prevention interventions with youth development strategies.
- Clearly identify the impact of its programs, activities, and efforts.
- Ensure that resources expended are worth the cost of producing a program.
- Meet funding requirements.

- Increase opportunities for success in producing a positive and measurable impact on teen sexual behaviors.
