2005 HCET Adolescent Reproductive Health Needs Assessment Health Care Education and Training, Inc. (HCET) has received funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to provide training and technical assistance to adolescent programs or services located in DHHS Region V (Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin). As part of that project HCET is conducting a needs assessment in selected states in the Region. Beginning with Wisconsin, HCET has collaborated with the State of Wisconsin Department of Health & Family Services (DHFS) Division of Public Health, the Department of Public Instruction (DPI), Department of Workforce Development (DWD) and the Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention Committee (APPC). Through this needs assessment, existing projects and resources addressing adolescent health issues such as STI, HIV, and teen pregnancy prevention in the WI have been identified. With the results HCET, DHFS, DP, DWD and the APPC will be able to assist in capacity building of local organizations and direct educational opportunities to reflect the needs of the participating agencies.
