Introduction
Welcome to the Wisconsin State Laboratory
of Hygiene (WSLH) 2005 Audio Program
Series! This series includes two updates
scheduled for 2005. The purpose of these
periodic programs is to offer a consistent
venue for the exchange of information and
dialogue between the State Lab and the
Family Planning Providers throughout the
state. This exchange includes sharing both
data and information that are most current
and timely!
Objectives
By the end of the program, participants
will be able to:
- Identify and discriminate alternatives to liquid based cytology methods as they apply to family planning clients.
- Define and discuss LGV (Lymphogranulama venereum)and the “New” CDC Surveillance efforts in light of the Amsterdam outbreak.
- Identify CT and GC oral/pharyngeal testing sites: testing recommendations, specimen collection and appropriates uses.
- Describe the current use of web-based reporting of patient results and the electronic transfer of records or data.

Routine presenters for this series will be staff from the WSLH including:

Additional presenters may be scheduled depending on the topic for each program.
Audio Conferencing
Audio conferencing allow participants easy access to important topics without having to travel far or be out of the office for an extended period of time. And when you choose to listen in from a County Extension site, there is no charge!
Steps to participate:
- To participate in the entire series, register with HCET prior to
April 13, 2005. If you would just like to sign up for an individual session, the deadline is
April 13 for WSLH Update I and November 9 for WSLH Update II.
- Reserve a location that is quiet and convenient, such as a County Extension site or your own office conference room
(list of County Extension sites and phone in PDF
format).
- Dial in to the number provided and enter the conference code when prompted.
- Watch for an e-mail from HCET with the agenda, dial-in number, and handouts 2-3 days prior to
the program.
Continuing Education
Health Care Education and Training, Inc., Indianapolis, has been approved as a provider of continuing education in nursing by the Indiana State Nurses Association (ISNA). ISNA is accredited as an approver by the Commission on Accreditation of the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
