Overview

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is the leading cause of infertility among women in the US and affects about one in ten women. Roughly half of the women who have PCOS are obese. Women with PCOS are at increased risk for Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, cardiovascular problems, liver disease, and sleep apnea. Early diagnosis and treatment of this syndrome can make a huge impact on a woman’s long-term health and well-being by addressing both infertility issues and chronic complications of diabetes and heart disease.
